A woman alone in Monaco…some advices.

Comments and Advice from our Members:

1) I am not sure Monaco is the place for loan woman.

There are some ok restaurants, but be careful where you have a drink – some of the “In” places have a few too many working girls.

Zebra, Sass , Jimmyz are all the same!

2) Go up to the Monaco old town , and the palace area, quite uphill and people don’t generally go there as only monegasque number plates or allowed, just take the bus its convenient…

There is also a open air cinema up the hill if you fancy catching a movie , check out sun casino, the main casino, a walk along the main port….

3) You can still enjoy Monaco, you just got to avoid the nightclubs.
As we all know, there are a lot of “working girls” and “gold diggers”.
Great restaurants, walking around the port, the Casino, old town (beautiful and peaceful)
Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Monte-Carlo. Beautiful and secure city.

Go to gerhard’s cafe in the fontvielle port, its cool, and there are nice restaurants nearby …..

4) MC is not Las Vegas, it’s far from being the paradise of the bitches and thanks god a girl alone is still able to go out for a drink without passing for as you say a “working girl”.

I’d suggest you to go for a drink at the Sea Lounge. I’m sure that some Monegasque aswer’s will be glad to invite you for a drink. you still have week to find some Cicerone.

For dinner Avenue 31, Beef bar, etc..

5) Sass cafe!!

You should definitively go out and explore MC! Try restaurant Sallier in Fontveille, it is nice place especially for wednesday evening.

6) Try the New Restaurant called the Cosmopolitan. Food’s great, atmosphere is really modern and fun. And the owner, Johanna is really sweet. You’re be impressed.

7) Hey, Monaco is not like that !
I work there since 3 years and an half and it’s really nice.
There are a lot of good restaurant, now they open also same nice spots on the beach where you can enjoy a good drink before dinner and have dinner too.
Zebra’s square is a really nice restaurant and a good discobar afterwards and there are no “working-girls” like you said at all ! At least a lot of Monaco working people, that’s it !
I’ve spent all the winter weekends over there and I like to go sometimes to Jimmy’z once a while with friends and we always had a good fun there.

Wednesday is probably going to be a quite night but, trust me, Monaco is good, safe and very nice !

8) Gerhard’s – over on the harbour in Fontvielle – is a warm, cosy, friendly bar – mostly frequented by those of “us” who know the city and keep away from the flashier, more commercial “Stars and Bars”-kind of places…

9) May be able to take you to the Yacht Club for a drink – this is very “Veille Ecole” and totally represents the “traditional side” of the City. The contrast would be interesting for you.

Eitherway, don’t stay in your hotel: you are safe – there are over 2000 Closed-Circuit TVs around the principality and 1 Cop to every 400 citizens :)) Besides which, it’s really small… Whilst you may conceivably get accosted by some “loopy” (tourist) or other young man on the make, you will always feel – and be – secure…
Enjoy our city!!

10) Cant believe so many of you badmouthing Monaco – its a fantastic place. I would not have left New Zealand to live here if it was full of ‘working girls’ and ‘gold diggers’. Sure there are some of them but there are loads of fantastic fun loving people here also!

I was there last summer as well and I do recommend the open air movie theater. What a treat!

And I did go for the garden on the hillside with all the cacti and thought it was a fabulous way to spend an hour or so.
