Comments and Advices from our Guest:
1) My biggest problem is i cant decided between Nice and Cannes. I will be taking day trips around the area, i have read the treads and have been quite helpful but still cant make my mind.
Am i being too picky? Gues i can always stay a nite in Monaco, 2 in Nice and 2 in Cannes but it seems too much of hassle doing all the hotels booking, packing-unpacking etc.
2) So far most of the comments say Nice is boring and Cannes rock but others say Nice is good for attractions/sigtseeing etc.
3) I will be renting a car and will have the opportunity to get around.
4) I know that Cannes and Nice are ultimately different and suit different people’ requirements.
5) I really wanna be in a place where i can find nice champagne/cigar houses, lounge bars, nice terrace/view cocktail bars etc. something stylish and relaxing. So what do you think??

6) Nice is sooo boring….
7) Is there anyone who can give me good deals for hotels in Cannes?
8) Carlton, Martinez, etc …
Are the best Hotel in Cannes
9) Cannes is more ‘up-scale’ as opposed to Nice, who is trying desperately to clean up the city and re-vamp their image. If you don’t know anyone in Nice who can show you around, I would suggest Cannes. It’s a safer bet for a first timer.
Good luck!
10) Cannes !!
11) Cannes - definitively!
12) With no doubt Cannes!
Nice is too big and Cannes is like a small village. Don’t forget to go for a dinner in the small village of Mougins (10km from Cannes).
13) Take an advice from me who lives in Monaco and completely avoid Nice.
14) Nice and Cannes are two big contraries. If you go to Nice all you will find is tourists from england or wherever who go to Nice to just get cheap drinks. There is no dress code and you will have way to many french which are dressed like in any low location. Not to talk bad about the french but that is just how Nice is.
15) Cannes is a million times better and I would not know where to start on the huge list of why Cannes is better. So for your own sake and also safety (Nice is one of the towns in France with the highest criminal rate and is especially unsafe for girls if you are not in the old town) stay out of Nice.

16) Cannes…
17) I’m a very old “Cannoise” and i believe Cannes is amazing :) not to mention the cote d’ azur as a whole.
18) AVOID NICE AT ALL COST. There is no comparison between both!!!! NICE is not safe at all & very touristic. U can go to Nice for just one day, a Monday preferably to check out ‘Salea’ in Nice its the nicest pedestrian spot with small little restaurants & stylish boutiques.
19) As for Cannes, the list is endless :) ‘Baoli’ is a nice open air club by the Marina full of Beautiful people. U can go for tea on the Carlton terrace & U MUST have dinner in the ‘Suquet’ area in Cannes, excellent cuisine! Also dinner at Mougins is a great idea. As for accomodation, hotel ‘Splendid’ has an excellent location and not so expensive but the rooms are quite small.
20) Other piece of advice, spend a couple of nights in St. Tropez & go to Nikki Beach.
Good luck!
21) Solution to the dilemma: go to St Tropez! All you are looking for is there (Nikki Beach, VIP Room, nice little hotels, great restaurants, etc, etc).
22) Cannes

23) I went to Nice-Cannes-St Tropez-Antibes and Monaco last year in August. Cannes, St Tropez and Monaco were my favorite! and sounds like more of what you are looking for. Have fun! The whole French Riviera is amazing though!
24) Try “Le Belles Rives” in Juan les Pins ,it’s a Art deco hotel just facing the sea with a private beach ,and… you will be just between Nice an Cannes….
25) Go in Cannes …No Nice please ,u can stay also in Cap D’Antibes is not so far and is perfect if u rent a cAr u can go also in Monaco at Jimmyz , in Cannes at Baolì .
In Cannes at Carlton for aperitif and behind the main street u will find a lots of bar and nice lounge clubs.
26) In Monaco Zebra Square,In St Trop go at le Palmiere on the beach amazing vibe and §Nikki beach. For dinner Villa Romana , La maison blanche !
ciao)))
27) I would say neither! both are boring, there’re so many nice charming villages in the area like eze, saint paul de vence or cap d’antibes which have great great hotels!
28) Go for the Cannes option! You can visit Nice during daytime.

29) Cannes!! absolutely!!
And, while you’re there don’t forget to go and visit some of the nice villages in the arriere-pays, like Gourdon, Tourrettes-sur-loup, St. Paul de Vence, Valbonne, Mougins :)
enjoy, it’s great!
30) I’m just leaving to St. Trop :))))
31) Nice is crap. Cannes
32) Cannes and then a day trip to Nice :)
33) Avoid Nice at all costs.
34) Cannes used to be nice but now not so nice (but still a lot more nice than Nice) because of the easy access by everybody and anybody using cheap air transport and accommodation.
35) It depends on what you want. If it is brainless partying, then Cannes or St Tropez are your destination. I personally prefer Monte Carlo. Nothing like SASS.
36) If you are looking for substantive enjoyment, a little art, fine wine and good conversation, and should you actually need to be in the south of France, then go to nearby villages such as St Paul de Vence or Mougins and mix with the locals.
37) If you do swing by St Paul, look me up and I’ll show you the hidden streets.
38) Definitely Cannes!!
39) So, at the end, we suggest Nice for a quite vacation and Cannes if you need sparkling people and go out during the night.
