There are only few ways through which a person who does not belong to film industry can experience the festival of Cannes. Just like Paul Allen and Larry Ellison who sailed their mega yatch into the bay and now the part lavishly there and is considered as the hottest in Cannes Festival.

Many of the owners are familiar and they keep their parties basically into themselves just like Alberta Ferretti who organised the party on her retro chic 1950's yacht.

If a person is a millionaire and is not a show off then these type of people check in in local Luxury Hotels and look for any available suites and then arrange their social calender. Dining Amongst the Stars
Those in Cannes for film business will likely spend most of their days in the hosted lunches in and around local screenings. Everyone else will get to indulge in the various beach clubs and outdoor cafes that line La Croisette during the film festival.

For the past several years, St. Tropez beach club La Voille Rouge has set up a Cannes outpost near the Palais de Festivals with all-day DJ's and light lunch scene followed by sponsored parties and dance events by night.

More lounge than traditional beach club, don't come wearing your bikini and sarong expecting Pampelonne Beach.

While most of Cannes' acclaimed eateries are in the luxury hotels, they're also full of chatty Americans who failed to score invites to the town's top dinner parties.

Instead, try for a dinner reservation at nearby La Baoli where's you'll dine on light pan-Asian cuisine and be able to hang around late for the DJ dance club where Dolce & Gabbana have held their annual parties in previous years.

Cannes: Where to spend Your Nightlife.

Le Palais Disco Cannes
  • The Scene: Le Palais is one of the most fresh and hugest club ever built in the French Riviera for a very long time, it is situated by La Croisette on a sidewalk that faces the ocean in the rear of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. It only operates from the end of June until August where there are traces everywhere of the ever famous Cannes Film Festival among cinema aficionados with red carpets draping everywhere and an elegant front marquee.

The walls are colored vibrantly with blue and green with hanging lights that are adorned with silk chiffons. Right in the middle of the club lays an exposed metal made beam upper limit and a low-pitched laze area arranged with arched and round loungers.

There are fitting cushioned bars which are made of tufted leather along the area for those who cannot down too many drinks as well as girls finding hard time to walk on the red carpeting all over the lounge in their heels and wedges.

There are weekly nights that are themed, such as the Thursday Erotica where guests could dance at the central dance floor with raised up stations for the DJ with occasional Ibiza superstars like Eric Morillo and Niki Bellucci. On some nights there are costume themes, and party goers would take It seriously and come dressed fittingly.

Final Words: Located on La Croisette, this Ibiza themed club oozes French chich and flamboyance as one of the most chic clubs in Cannes. Russian models and French playboys find common ground.

Palm Beach Discoteque

  • The Scene: Keep in mind that you don't have to be in Vegas to enjoy casino delights. Although being in Cannes, I am pretty sure going to a casino would be the last place on your mind right now. But just because you are in Cannes, it gives you all the reason to tryout the club slash casino at the Cannes' Palm Beach Casino.

Definitely not a place you would want to miss especially if you are a fan of nightlife.

Definitely a place to be during the summer, as an outdoor pool deck transforms as a pool side beach club during the summer, complete with Mediterranean backdrop and evening eat up while partying with DJs until 2 in the morning.

Be sure to prepare extra, extra cash on you as when midnight bell tolls, the action is brought into indoors, but visitors are charged with different charges and a new entrance fee, but it's worth it and you won't want to miss the scene.

Right inside you will be greeted by beautiful sight of chandeliers with gothic theme and sparkles all over the wall. If somehow you see this place familiar, it is because it is always used for the Cannes Film Festival.

  • The Scene: Best place to party in Cannes Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Usully, there is a thematic parties just after the diner. The food at the restaurant is very good too. Naomi Cambpell during the Film Festival in Cannes

• What to do in Cannes

  • Sunning on la Plage de la Croisette.
The hotel has a private spot on Cannes's most coveted beach, la Plage de la Croisette, complete with a strip of carpet extending over the black pebbles to the Mediterranean's emerald edge - so you don't have to get your feet burned by the hot rocks as you head to the sea.

    Dine With a View.
Book a table for sunset on the outdoor terrace with fantastic breezy sea views at the Michelin-rated La Scena, one of several on-site restaurants. It specializes in Mediterranean-meets-Japanese cooking. The fresh seafood platters and the prawn risotto are consistently good choices. For a more casual experience, try Le Grand Bleu. The brasserie-style lounge and terrace bar does good pasta and salads, stays open late and has a DJ on summer nights.

    Palais de Festivals.
The current home of the Cannes Film Festival, Festival Hall, is just a five-minute stroll down La Croisette from the hotel. Although the concrete stage is probably the least glamorous part of Cannes, it's still worth checking out. Walking the red carpet and posing for a picture on the 22 steps leading up to the cinema's entrance sounds cheesy, but it's one of those integral Cannes experiences everyone does once.

    Cocktails at the Carlton.
The grand dame of Cannes hotels, the Art Deco Carlton Intercontinental is worth a visit. Twin cupolas were modeled on the breasts of La Belle Otero, a courtesan famous for her multiple royal lovers, including Czar Nicolas II and Britain's King Edward VII.

    People Watching on La Croisette.
Take a stroll down the famous palm-shaded promenade by the sea to soak up Cannes's hedonistic atmosphere. Sit on one of the well-placed benches on the long walkway, eavesdropping on the conversations of people passing by, scanning the water for the ocean-liner-size yachts parked on its sparkling glass surface.
